Poisonous Marketing Methods to Avoid
Enthusiasm can be a two-edged sword. Without enthusiasm for your business, your prospects will perceive your apathy and won’t feel as much desire to work with you. On the other hand, there comes the danger that if you have simply too much enthusiasm your potential client will assume that there’s something wrong with you or your offer that they’re not getting.
This type of business killing enthusiasm we shall call “hype”. Do not get this confused with the acronym “HYIP” which some pronounce the same way. A “HYIP” is a high yield investment program and usually some kind of scam. Save yourself a lot of trouble by avoiding any program that doesn’t provide a real product or service, or a network who’s sole purpose is to bring in more people without providing and real benefits.
When you show too much enthusiasm for your product or service in your marketing, people instantly feel like you’re trying to sell them something. That’s true, you are. The prospect, however, doesn’t like being SOLD anything. What the prospect really loves to do is BUY.
